Raster-to-Vector Conversion
If vector files aren’t available, take advantage of our raster-to-vector conversion service starting at $25.
Preferred Formats
Acceptable formats include .svg, .cdr, .ai, or .eps. Ensure all fonts are converted to curves or outlines, or provide fonts separately. Avoid linked or embedded objects in your file.

Difference Between Vector and Raster Files
- Vector Artwork: Refers to two-dimensional art created with mathematical lines and curves. Vector files are resolution-independent, allowing for infinite enlargement without loss of image quality. Common file types include .svg, .ai, .eps, .ps, .pdf, and .cdr.
Important Note: Vector file types may still contain raster art. If uncertain about your files, our art coordinators can verify your artwork.
- Raster Artwork: Encompasses digitally composed images made up of horizontal and vertical rows of pixels. Raster files are resolution-dependent and lose image quality when enlarged. Common file types include .svg, .psd, .tif, .jpg, .png, .gif, and .bmp.
Important Note: The listed file types for raster images are not usable for our production process.
Award Text Requirements
We offer complimentary design services, but we need a few details to get started. Start by outlining what you’d like on the award- this includes logo, award category, date, recipient name, and potentially a short message. Be sure to note any specific features you’d like to see so that we can implement that within the layout. We will design your award in the most visually appealing way unless you have requested a specific layout, font, etc.
Please send your text and personalization via email or word document. If you have a list of names, include them in a spreadsheet using Excel. Send all personalization and messages as text, avoiding outlines or images, to facilitate easy copying and pasting and minimize the risk of misspellings.
Text sent as outlines will be re-typeset for your review and approval.
Size: The size is font-dependent; please reach out to our customer service team for details on specific fonts and sizes.
Style: Optimal choices for sandblasting include bold, open, and sans serif fonts.
Avoid: Many script fonts may not be suitable for etching, especially at smaller sizes.
Brand Fonts: If your requested font isn’t in our files, we’ll substitute the closest match. Feel free to email us ([email protected]) your font as an attachment for evaluation.
We advise against curly, broken, eroded fonts or those with enclosures too small for clear engraving. Contact our customer service team for further guidance on requirements.
